Frugal, Fancy, Friday: Bachelorette Edition

Hello, hello! Happy Fri-yay!

Currently en route to Burlington, VT for my bachelorette weekend! So so excited and grateful for my wonderful friends and family who I will get to spend the weekend with.

This week, I wanted to feature a few of the pieces I purchased second-hand for my bachelorette weekend, with a few old favorites mixed in.

♥Floral and flow-y

This dress is from a vintage shop in Austin called “I Luv Vintage“. Normally, not a huge fan of vintage over consignment or thrift shops, but this one had some interesting pieces. Among them I found this great dress which fit like a glove for a bit of a splurge at $48. There’s no tag so I’m unsure of the brand, but it said it was from the 80’s? I enjoy the floral print and, of course, the pockets. I paired it with my go to chunky heels from Kork-Ease purchased at TJ Maxx for $40. They are the most comfortable.

♥Crop-top it up

I found this crop top (no label) from Buffalo Exchange in Austin for $15 and the jeans, originally from Gap were purchased at Buffalo Exchange in Somerville for $18. For this look I chose a stellar pair of Tory Burch flats which were a ridiculous steal from Buffalo Exchange in Somerville for $23. Also featured, my new couch, purchased from Craigslist. There’s a theme in my life here.

♥No-shame shorts

Found a great pair of grey jean shorts at a second-hand shop a stone’s throw from my apartment called Uptown Cheapskate. These shorts were originally from Forever 21, so nothing special, but they were $8 and are quite comfy. Uptown Cheapskate operates similar to Buffalo Exchange and has locations all over the country, but sadly none in New England. I paired the shorts with a top from the “a new day” line for Target, which I found at Goodwill for $2. For footwear I went with my Vans purchased from the consignment store Revolve back in MA for $38. They retail for $80 on the Vans website. The suede and fringe make me jump for joy.

Was lucky enough to find a second pair of shorts from Uptown Cheapskate. This pair of white Levi’s were $13 and I paired them with my favorite H & M shirt purchased awhile ago from Buffalo Exchange.

Also had a chance to try Tiny Pies, close to my apartment on South Lamar. I tried a special featured during their “Summer Pie Social”. The flavor was chocolate espresso. It was quite delicious containing chocolate from Srsly Chocolate, another local company. Part of the proceeds from each purchase went to the Jeremiah Program, an organization working with single mothers in low income areas in five states.

♥Cheap and Chic

Last, but not least, I’m very excited about this dress I found at Uptown Cheapskate. Again, it’s originally from Forever 21, so nothing to write home about brand-wise, but for $10, I thought it was a fun summer buy.

Stay tuned for next week! I’m sure I’ll have some fun bachelorette photos to post!
